Transformers: Rise Of The Dark Spark Announcement Trailer

The trailer for Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark has gone live. The video was introduced originally at the 2014 Toy Fair, and it's now available for public consumption online.

TFW 2005 detailed some of the info from the trailer, indicating that the game would be a clash of two universes.

The video above gives you a brief idea of what the game will be like, combining both the movie universe and the Cybertron universe established by Highmoon Studios.

It's pretty cool because TFW acknowledged that it would be “Prime vs Prime, Grimlock vs Grimlock, Earth vs Cybertron, Bumblebee vs Bumblebee” and that Peter Cullen would be reprising his role as the legendary Optimus Prime.

As indicated by the video, the visuals seem to be a fusion of both the Transformers: Movie Game and Transformers: War for Cybertron. The battle between two Transformers universes is kind of an epic thing, actually.

Come to think of it, it would be unbelievably awesome taking command of different generations of Optimus Prime or my boy Soundwave and doing battle against other players donning various skins from different Autobots and Decepticons. In fact, this could be a pretty awesome game if it's handled properly and the online component is properly fleshed out.

As we reported on yesterday and as the trailer indicates, the game is set for release across multiple platforms and likely to coincide with the upcoming Transformers: Age of Extinction movie. However, previously the Amazon listing didn't quite show that it would be available for all systems, but the trailer details that Rise of the Dark Spark is set to arrive this year for the Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PC, Nintendo 3DS and of course... the underdog that could take 2014 by storm: The Wii U.

Unfortunately, there's no indication on who the developer is and all we do know is that Hasbro Gaming is involved.

If the game is at least similar to the Fall of Cybertron, then gamers will be in for a pretty fun time as they battle in the third-person vehicular shooter with or against friends.

We'll continue to keep you posted on more info for Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark as more gameplay details begin to roll out. I can't wait to actually see some real gameplay showcasing two Optimus Primes going head-to-head. I'm pretty sure that Prime from the Cybertron series would likely rip the Michael Bay Prime to shreds.

Shout out once again to Nathan K., for the news tip.
