We’ve been hoping to see a sale system implemented with the Xbox LIVE Arcade. Something more official than the typical “2 Days ONLY!!” price drops that have been prevalent. Similar to the Platinum Hits program seen with retail box games, tomorrow Xbox LIVE Arcade Hits will premiere. And with it a number of now classic Arcade titles will be on sale.
Bankshot Billiards 2 will drop to 800 MS Points, making it still too expensive but far more palatable. Lumines LIVE! also sees a drop to the 800 point mark. Marble Blast Ultra, Small Arms and Zuma Deluxe are all dropping to 400 MS Points.
It had to only be a matter of time for this program to be implemented, and it didn’t come soon enough. But hell, it’s finally here. Noticeably missing is Geometry Wars, but considering how much I talk up that game it’s probably still selling like a fiend. Too bad Microsoft continues to spurn my advances to be a cashwhore sellout.
The future of LIVE is looking quite nice with upcoming titles like GripShift, Rez HD and Omega Five. At least we know of something coming for the 360 in 2008. I’m going to play some Word Puzzle while we all wait to hear anything about Alan Wake.
