Don't Bother With Those ABBA Reunion Tickets

We may be through with the past, but the past isn’t through with us. Unless you’re ABBA, of course, then you can live quietly off that “Take A Chance On Me” money and reappear for the occasional movie premiere about your music.
The former biggest pop band in the world reunited in Sweden to watch Mamma Mia, a musical turned film about a girl trying to find her real father featuring twenty-two of their little ditties. They haven’t actually played music in the same space in twenty-two years. Unfortunately, for all those fans out there, they also took the opportunity to vindictively squash any tour rumors with Benny Andersson telling NME "You know what pop music is. It is there for the time it actually happens. We were absolutely dead sure it would be the same for us." It’s always admirable when a band boasts about retiring and than actually follows through, but come’on guys, I wanna hear me some “S.O.S.” Plus, music has had a serious dearth of chest hair lately.
