It looks like the cast of NBC’s The Office is faring pretty well on the big screen. Jenna Fischer (aka Pam) appeared in Slither, Rainn Wilson (aka Dwight) recently scored a lead in a ninja film called Bonzai Shadowhands, and Steve Carell can’t get enough of Hollywood. Refusing to be left behind, John Krasinski (aka Jim) is mapping out a pretty solid path into movies, too.
According to Reuters, the affable actor is in negotiations to star alongside George Clooney and Renee Zellweger in Leatherheads, a 1920s football romantic comedy that Clooney is directing. The story is about a team owner (Clooney) who tries to woo the fiancee (Zellweger) of his recently recruited college football sensation (Krasinski). Look out, John—no woman on Earth is strong enough to resist George’s charms. The Universal Pictures film is slated to shoot in the spring, but they are figuring out a way to accommodate Krasinski’s TV schedule. Until then, you can catch John in cameo roles in Dreamgirls and The Holiday, and a starring role in the upcoming comedy License to Wed. |
