Everyone who saw The Hurt Locker came out raving about Jeremy Renner's lead performance, but there was a lot to notice on Anthony Mackie's side as well, playing Renner's right-hand man and turning in an equally engaging, intense performance. Looks like George Nolfi noticed too-- he's cast Mackie alongside Matt Damon and Emily Blunt in The Adjustment Bureau, an adaptation of the Philip K. Dick short story.
Variety writes that the film will start shooting as soon as Mackie wraps up his run in The Bacchae, which is running currently in Central Park. It's good news for anyone who liked Mackie in Hurt Locker or even in his role as Tupac in Notorious earlier this year-- even if we don't yet know exactly what his Adjustment Bureau role will be.
