An extended promo trailer for the Sylvester Stallone helmed ‘splosion pr0n flick The Expendables has blasted its way through a small army and onto the internet, bringing with it all kinds of yes! Big ass explosions? Yes! Stallone yelling at people? Yes! Jet Li’s even more over the top than Lethal Weapon 4 accent? Double YES!
The Expendables is the result of pouring seven or eight entirely different samples of badassery into a cauldron, bringing it to a boil over a fire kindled with the severed limbs of your enemies, stir in bullets, night vision goggles and a dash of paprika, and serve it in a Dominos bread bowl. My usual rule of not accepting action just for action’s sake has literally been tossed out the window because of the unbridled amount of fun this will be. I for one will make sure Stallone NEVER gets the memo telling him he’s 63. You’ll be able to scope this out in theaters in just under a year, August 20, 2010, so there’s plenty of time for you to hit the gym and learn some bad karate before you drive your hummer to the theater. Hearing Dolph Lundgren call Jet Li “Happy Feet” makes the trip worthwhile all by itself.
