Keith Urban Cuts Original Track For Navy SEAL Thriller Act Of Valor![]()
Relativity Media’s Act of Valor is a Navy SEAL thriller with a twist: The cast consists of actual, active-duty U.S. Naval SEALs instead of Hollywood actors doing their best to pretend to be battle-tested heroes. Weeks ago, we brought you the first official trailer for the actioner, which reaches theaters in February. Now we have some soundtrack news to share.
Country music superstar Keith Urban has recorded the original song “For You” for the Act of Valor soundtrack, Relativity announced in a press release. Urban’s track, co-written by Monty Powell, will play over the film’s end credits. Somehow this is Urban’s first musical collaboration on behalf of a motion picture. Apparently Mr. Nicole Kidman prefers to keep his “personal” life separated from his “professional” life … at least until the project proves worthy enough to mix the two together. “After seeing Act Of Valor, my co-writer (Monty Powell) and I wanted to capture the essence of not only what these men and women do so extraordinarily, but how that relates to all of us,” Urban explained. “Valor shows us what they are willing to give their all for, which made me wonder, 'What am I willing to give my life for?' ‘For You’ is intended to allow the listener to define who that is for them.” Directed by the Bandito Brothers, Valor tells a fictional story of search and rescue that uses actual SEAL tactics conducted by legitimate SEALs. It should bring an automatic level of authenticity. The soundtrack, featuring Urban’s original song, will be available digitally on iTunes and physically in music retail locations on Tuesday, Feb. 21. The movie reaches theaters on Feb. 24. |
