The Kings Of Summer Red Band Trailer Delivers A Healthy Dose Of Youthful Rebellion
What you'll find below is a red band trailer. This means that people under 18 shouldn't watch it, and that if you're still at work or around small children you should plug in a pair of headphones and perhaps dim your monitor. Things are about to get a little bit crazy.
What you just watched, thanks to Funny or Die, is the new trailer for The Kings of Summer, the critically-acclaimed comedy that premiered at this year's Sundance Film Festival. And if that preview made you laugh, chances are that it was because of it's terrific cast, which includes great names like Nick Offerman, Alison Brie and Megan Mullally. This looks like a somewhat ridiculous coming of age story, but I laughed out loud during multiple moments. Thankfully we won't have to wait long until the feature finally arrives in theaters.
Nick Robinson, Gabriel Basso and Moises Arias star as three teenage friends who can no longer take living with their parents. They decide to run away together and build a house in the middle of the woods where they can live off of the land and be rulers of their own lives. Perhaps its because I'm beyond the years of youthful rebellion, but it's a shame that anyone wouldn't want the opportunity to learn about life from Parks & Recrection's Ron Swanson. That man has much to teach.
CBS Films has picked up The Kings of Summer for distribution and will have it in theaters at the end of this month, on May 31st.
