The great Liam Neeson has been kind of MIA since his stint in Batman Begins. This spring though, hell show up in the strangely British Western Seraphim Falls, and while were watching that Variety says hell go to work on the new Luc Besson/Robert Mark Kamen scripted movie Taken.
Dont worry, Besson hasnt pulled a Scorsese and cancelled the directorial retirement plans he announced a few months ago. Hes just writing it, not directing. Hell be producing a number of movies in the next couple of years, so his retirement wont really be much of a rest. The guy is staying active.
In Taken, Nesson is an ex-soldier out to rescue a daughter kidnapped by slavers while traveling in Europe. With the clock ticking, he has to track her down before shes lost forever.
Perhaps the most interesting thing about Liams attachment to the project is that hes only able to do it because his commitment to Steven Spielbergs next movie Lincoln has been delayed. Lincoln was supposed to be Stevens next movie, but Variety says hes delaying it to direct Indiana Jones 4. When George Lucas announced theyd go into production on the movie in 2007, few actually believed it. Hes made announcement like that before, but nothing has ever come of it. But if Spielberg is delaying other movies in order to work in Indy, then perhaps itll finally happen.
