Alright I have a confession to make. I kind of like ABBA. I wouldn’t want to wake up to them every day, or have an ABBA CD permanently hardwired into the player in my car, but if you can listen to “Dancing Queen” without engaging in at least a little toe-tapping, well you have more will power than me.

So I’m kind of interested in the new movie adaptation of the Broadway musical Mamma Mia!, if only because the whole thing is based on the movie of ABBA. I’ve also sort of been curious to see what’ll happen when Meryl Streep tries to sing. Well, this morning I’ve got an answer.

The first trailer for the movie version of Mamma Mia! has just popped up online, and unlike some of the Sweeney Todd trailers we’ve been getting, they’re not afraid to show off their star belting out a tune. Meryl sings, she dances, she makes googly eyes at Pierce Brosnan, and the whole thing sort of works. Check out the movie’s first trailer by clicking right here.
