The trailer for Mutant Chronicles is online and I don’t know what to think. We all know movie adaptations of games tend not to work so well, but this is a pen and paper RPG, not a video game. That means less constraints to stick to to be faithful to the game’s story - more of a world setting in which to set the movie. I have to admit I’m not that familiar with the world of Mutant Chronicles, but what’s shown in the trailer looks pretty cool.

The movie stars Ron Perlman (oddly, Thomas Jane, who headlines the advertising, only appears for a second in the trailer), who looks like he’s facing off against John Malkovich who wants to abandon Earth, which is obviously undergoing some cataclysmic events. Perlman thinks he can do more with twenty soldiers and a ship than Malkovich has done previously. He’s probably right - after all, he’s Ron Perlman.
