The third Pirates of the Caribbean movie has a title, and it sounds like they’re ripping off Master and Commander.

AICN was the first to discover that the official site of Martin Kelbba had broken it, I’d assume because Harry is desperately interested in Martin’s next project, a movie version of Homey the Clown. Anyway, Kelbba was in the first movie, he’ll be in the second, and he’s in the third so if he says this is the title, there’s a good chance he’s right. Or maybe he’s just joking. Here it is:

Pirates of the Caribbean: World’s End

Master & Commander: Far Side of the World anyone? What happened to curses and corpses? I’d assume that World’s End refers to them sailing a really really long ways. It’s an odd fit with Curse of the Black Pearl and Dead Man’s Chest. They should have gone with Davy Jones Locker and then actually hired Davy Jones.

Pirates 2 & 3 are being filmed back to back, in true Back to the Future (or if you want to put a negative spin on it Matrix) fashion. Both Dead Man’s Chest arrives July 2006 and World’s End should hit theaters in 2007 only to be overshadowed by the GIANT FREAKIN ROBOTS!! of Transformers. Does Captain Jack turn into anything when you crank his left arm? A dinghy perhaps?
