I wasn’t blown away by The Propostion so for my money the best Western, heck the only good Western, in a very long time was Kevin Costner’s gunslinging cowpoke movie Open Range. If you missed it, find it.

This year though, there’s a movie that may challenge it. Now that he’s free from the shackles of Bond, Pierce Brosnan is free to do any crazy thing he wants. He’s doing a Western called Seraphim Falls with Liam Neeson. Brits in a Western? They’ve left their accents in England. Why not? Liam Neeson looks pretty sharp wielding a six-shooter.
