Should Cheryl Cole Feel Bad About Suing X Factor Producers?

X Factor may have churned forward like a well-oiled machine during season two, but prior to the programís American debut a little more than a year ago, it was complete and utter chaos. The judging table wasnít finalized until just prior to the beginning of auditions, and after only a few stops, Simon Cowell and the producers made a shocking decision to drop British pop star Cheryl Cole out of fear her accent would prove too thick for American audiences to understand.
The decision to fire Cole may have been the right call for the show in terms of on-air product, but it created some annoyance for the money managers. According to TMZ X Factor wound up paying the singer $1.8 million to not appear on the show, and if Cole is to be believed, sheís actually owed more than two million dollars more for season two.
Earlier this month, Cole filed a lawsuit seeking the immediate payment of the two million dollars she was supposedly promised last season. In addition, she also wants three hundred thousand dollars for all of the little bonuses producers allegedly promised they would take care of after Cole moved to the United States.
On the one hand, itís easy to understand why Cole wants to be paid all of this money. Her contract was allegedly for two years, and she wants the producers to live up to her contract. On the other hand, itís a little bizarre that she wants to collect nearly four million dollars for completely failing and losing her spot on the show.
