Earlier tonight, American Idol kicked off Season 15, its final set of episodes, and while some may have thought the show would pull out all the stops to bring last seasonís dismal ratings back up to past highs, Clay Aiken is here to shoot those dreams down.
After lambasting Arsenio for his verbal actions in past weeks, Donald Trump eventually turned to Aubrey and fired her ass, beginning this weekís Celebrity Apprentice final task with a bang. With Arsenio pitted against Clay, we didnít have to wait long to ascertain what the final challenge would be. The next morning, Trump told the two men they would each be putting on a variety show where they would also have to create a PSA announcement for their charities and bring in some big ticket donors.
At the beginning of this weekís task, Elle and CHI showed up, and for a second, I thought I was smack dab in the middle of an episode of Project Runway. Then, Trump opened his mouth instead of the soft, slightly Germanic accent of Heidi Klum and I realized this would probably be some sort of Celebrity Apprentice advertising challenge. I was right.
Itís no surprise Clay Aiken might find his experience on Celebrity Apprentice more difficult than American Idol. On Idol you are only making decisions for yourself, you donít have to rely on any teammates, and you are totally at the mercy of American voters. Celebrity Apprentice is more like a snake pit. You are part of the pit, part of the team, but after every challenge you have to go into a stifling boardroom and be prepared to fight for your on-air life.
