Bewtiched Star Montgomery Gets Hollywood Star

Maybe this will make up for that terrible Nicole Kidman movie. ... No, nothing can make up for that, but this comes pretty close. Elizabeth Montgomery, star of the original Bewitched TV show, received a posthumous honor Friday when her star was unveiled on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Montgomery "is probably in the heavens laughing at us as we stand in the rain," honorary Hollywood Mayor Johnny Grant told the AP at the ceremony.

I wonder if the original Samantha laughed or cried from the heavens while Kidman was stinking up the theaters with her portrayal as the super savvy witch. Anyway, Montgmery played Samantha from 1964 to the early 70s. She died in 1995, but her famous character lives on in reruns that are a lot funner to watch than you probably remember. Montgomery and Dick York (Darrin no. 1) had great chemistry, and the show even broke some TV ground by being the first sitcom to feature the couple sleeping in the same bed.
