Check Out Hannibal's First Teaser And A New Poster

Audiences were not fortunate enough to have NBC order Bryan Fuller's modern take on The Munsters called Mockingbird Lane to series, his other project at the network is equally is not more exciting and guaranteed at least one full season. And with the kind of talent Gaumont International Television has put together for Fuller's Hannibal, including stars Hugh Dancy, Mads Mikkelsen and Laurence Fishburne, don't be surprised if a second season of the serial killer drama is quickly ordered.

After months of waiting, not to mention teasing out some appetizing promotional stills, NBC has finally released a trailer for the upcoming series Hannibal. Even in its brevity, the trailer doesn't disappoint. Check out the first look at actual footage from Hannibal...

Is it impolite to ask for seconds? The spot does a great job in just 30 seconds of introducing the main players. It opens on Dancy's Agent Will Graham and Fishburne's Jack Crawford walking through some gruesome crime scenes, before giving us a glimpse of the man himself, Mikkelsen's Dr. Lecter. Of course, I wouldn't mind seeing a bit more to get a better sense of their working relationship, but I'd say most of the material comes right from the pilot. The footage seems like they are only starting to feel each other out in the very early moments of their relationship. And the final blurred, reverse POV shots add a great, almost haunting finish.

Additionally, NBC has released a new poster for its drama. A telling napkin is the focal point, but there’s also some sharp clothing and blood red background in the shot. Forget vegetables, always remember to eat the rude.

Hannibal premieres Thursday, April 4 at 10:00 p.m. ET on NBC. Based on the novels by Thomas Harris and created for television by Bryan Fuller, the series stars Hugh Dancy, Mads Mikkelsen, Laurence Fishburne, Caroline Dhavernas, Gina Torres and Anna Chlumsky.
