HBO isn't shy about promoting the second season of Game of Thrones. The one show on the network that definitely doesn't need any additional attention seems to be the one getting all the coverage. And while that may sound like complaining, there is certainly no unwelcome Game of Thrones promotional material, whether it's a bunch of character videos or these new 'pledge your allegiance' featurettes. There are five different videos for five different houses so the only question is, where does your allegiance lie?
All of the videos are pretty well put together. One of two features unifying the videos is the music (the other being the 'are you a [insert house]?' title card), which is especially rousing and definitely does a great job of getting me amped up for the series' return. Well, more than I already was - no easy feat. I know I'm House Stark all the way but the best videos to watch are the houses that didn't feature as prominently in the first season (House Baratheon and Greyjoy) because they, obviously, feature the most new footage.
Yes, I know the Baratheons were also central to the first season but with Robert gone, the younger brothers Renly and Stannis are brought to the forefront. And as far as the Greyjoys well, those Iron Born cannot be trusted. Beware the Kraken! Sorry. Unleash the Kraken! Having said that, all of the videos were worth the 40 second runtime for a glimpse at both new and old characters, settings and stories. So, what house are you?
