Watch The 80's Dismantle A Radio Shack In Funny Super Bowl Ad

Radio Shack used their Super Bowl ad to acknowledge 1980s-associations with their brand, using a lot of very familiar, very 80s faces in then process. Among them, Mary Lou Retton, Hulk Hogan, Alf, Sgt. Slaughter, Erik Estrada, Twisted Sister's Dee Snider, Kid 'N Play, Teen Wolf (the original), Chucky and even a Delorean to seal the deal, Back to the Future-style. There's also a surprise appearance by Ghostbusters' Slimer. You can watch the full video above and take a closer look at the efforts that went into the ad in the behind-the-scenes video below:

Taking a nostalgic approach to let people know that they're giving themselves a make-over certainly works, especially in reaching out to the generation that remembers shopping there for their tape recorders, walkmans, TRS-80 computers and other high-tech (for its day) gadgetry.

Just to emphasize how high-tech they are, Radio Shack has this ad, which has this guy showing Jason how to use a 3D printer...

And here Alf has trouble getting his cell phone to play any music...

"Oh, a cooking show. Nice!" Alf says, in response to the sight of a cat.
