What Happens When You Mash Up The Walking Dead And Growing Pains?

While it lost some of its momentum during the first half of its second season, AMC's The Walking Dead is still one of the most talked-about shows on television. And while the show offers up plenty to love, it's also incessantly bleak and depressing. I mean, sure, it's basically the end of the world. And sure, even if you survive the best you can hope for is a future spent hiding out from the shambling hordes of flesh-hungry undead. But just 'cause it's the apocalypse doesn't mean everybody has to be so damn mopey all the time. I mean, at least Rick Grimes and the survivors have each other, right? And as long as they've got each other, they've got the world spinnin' right in their hands. Wait…why does that sound so damn familiar?

Yes, that is indeed an "alternate" opening credits for The Walking Dead, set to the snappy tune of the Growing Pains theme song. It's the work of the mad geniuses over at Movieweb, and it is most likely the best thing you will see all week. Seriously, I wouldn't even bother turning the TV on again for a while.

The Walking Dead returns to AMC – sadly, without this new credits sequence – Sunday, February 12th at 9/8c.
