VH1’s much-buzzed rock-documentary Anvil! The Story of Anvil hits DVD on October 6th, callously hording exclamation points despite these turbulent economic times. Somewhere out there a poor, single mother wants desperately to exclaim, but can’t. That’s on you, Anvil. That’s on you.
Anvil! premiered at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival and opened theatrically last April. The film introduces the metal-challenged of the world to guitarist Steve “Lips” Kudlow and drummer Robb Reiner (no relation), the talents behind the titular 30-year-old Canadian heavy metal band. Anvil! The Story of Anvil was directed by screenwriter Sacha Gervasi, previously known for trapping Tom Hanks and audiences inside an airport terminal for no good reason.
The unrated film clocks in (rocks in?) at 80 minutes, will cost you $24.99, and will net you 45 minutes of special features including:
