Battle Obesity Via DVD

If Morgan Spurlock’s Super Size Me didn’t kick your fast food habit, here’s a film that might. On March 31st, The Disinformation Company will bring the documentary Killer at Large to DVD.

Everyone knows that a significant amount of Americans suffer from obesity. What you may not know is that obesity is on its way to becoming the single greatest killer of Americans. Killer at Large examines this deadly epidemic through interviews and footage of major public figures including President Bill Clinton, consumer advocate Ralph Nader, filmmaker Neil LaBute, Senator Tom Harkin, Senator Sam Brownback and Governor Mike Huckabee. Not only does this film address what causes obesity, but what will be necessary to battle the spreading of the condition as well.

Being that I was absolutely fascinated by Super Size Me, I’m rather curious to see what Killer at Large is all about. There’s something about food related issues that mesmerize people. Whether or not you suffer from an eating-related illness, everyone eats and therefore, everyone can relate. And, nowadays, everyone knows someone who is battling obesity in particular. The DVD brings you the documentary as well as 80 minutes of special features. This bonus material includes a 45-minute educational version, the film’s New York City premiere with Chevy & Jayni Chase, Chevy’s congressional testimony and deleted scenes. Just think, you can get twenty items from the McDonald’s dollar menu or buy Killer at Large for $19.95.
