Dtp Entertainment and Ronimo Games announced that a new side-scrolling, multiplayer online battle arena game is headed to the Xbox 360 and PS3 called Awesomenauts. It’s a game that’s inspired by classic 80s cartoons and features a wild assortment of wacky characters and zany environments.

Jasper Koning, co-founder of Ronimo Games commented about the upcoming side-scroller, saying…
"We are thrilled to surprise the world with Awesomenauts at E3, and look forward to announcing further details then. If MOBA games and classic animated series were to have a baby, this would be it!"… "They don't make 'em like this anymore!"

The game features galactic mercenaries that have come together to do battle on an epic scale. This includes angry monkeys with jetpacks, and anatomically incorrect robots with blasters for hands. The game doesn’t look half bad, but it would have been slightly more cool if a game like Metal Assault ended up on the PSN or XBLA. A gamer can hope.

Anyway, Awesomenauts will be on display for both the Xbox 360 and PS3 at this year’s E3 between June 7th and June 9th. You can learn more by visiting the Official Website.
