A new developer diary has surfaced for the upcoming 505 Games sports simulator, Backbreaker. The developer diary showcases in-game footage and they talk a bit about the control scheme and physics.

The crazy thing about this game is that it always looks like it’s a cinematic sequence; all the plays, the fumbles, the tackles and the passes seem as if they’re for demonstration and not actual gameplay. That’s one of the things that makes the game so intense is that it’s like a cinematic experience for each and every play and that’s definitely something that you don’t see in other sports games.

It’s mentioned several times by the developers that there’s lots of nuances gamers just won’t see in other football games and I’m hard pressed to think it’s true based on what’s shown off in the video.

Backbreaker is due out this spring for the Xbox 360 and PS3. Need more info? Be sure to visit the Official Website.
