One of the most memorable catchphrases from Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is "Fus Ro Dah." New trademark applications indicate that Bethesda might be planning to create merchandise around this dragon shout.
Dragon shouts in Skyrim are special powers that the players acquires over the course of the game. "Fus Ro Dah," also known as "Unrelenting Force," is a powerful shout that lets players throw enemies like ragdolls. It's an extremely popular ability considering how many mountains and cliffs can be found in the game.
The trademark, spotted by Fusible, apply to a wide variety of product types. The applications mention backpacks, clothing, video games, mouse pads, toys and more.
It's possible, then, that Bethesda might start selling their own "Fus Ro Dah" t-shirts some day. However, it's just as likely that they want to prevent other companies from doing it. After all, this is the same company that tried to prevent Mojang from making a game called Scrolls because it sounds too similar to Elder Scrolls.
Bethesda hasn't commented on the trademark filing yet but that's no shock. Companies generally don't talk about trademark apps; they just wait until they have an actual product to announce.
