Flight simulators have been in short supply as of late; we just don’t get them half as much as we used to back during the golden age of PC gaming. Konami, however, is separating themselves from the rest of the publishing pack by working with Gaijin Entertainment to deliver a World War II dog-fighting sim for the Xbox 360 and PS3.

The game features plenty of popular and less-than-renown fighter planes from the second World War era, and a variety of missions that sees players going on bombing runs, out-running opponents in sky chases as well as classic dog-fighting missions. Of course, none of this would be any fun without some good ‘ole fashioned multiplayer mayhem.

You can check out the new trailer for Birds of Steel below, which is set to release in early 2012 for the Xbox 360 and PS3. For more info be sure to visit the Official Konami Website.
