Nearly 10 whole minutes of gameplay are put on display in the new gameplay walkthrough video featuring the Commando class from Gearbox Software's upcoming first-person loot-and-grind shooter, Borderlands 2.
The walkthrough comes courtesy of GameTrailers TV, who managed to snag some E3 all-access gameplay during the showfloor presentation, which is a good visual follow-up to our own hands-own impressions of the game here at Gaming Blend. Check it out below.
You can see the full breakdown of gameplay mechanics for each of the other character classes over at GameTrailers.
As for the video above, a couple of things: I don't know how I feel about disposing of Tediore weapons instead of reloading. I suppose as long as there alternate variations of those guns that still give you the reloading option from other gun manufacturers then it's cool, otherwise it would seem a little weird constantly throwing a gun away only to pull it out of a time-spatial warp like Ultra Violet to replenish the gun you just threw at a guy instead of reloading it.
I love a lot of the new rocket launchers, they really look and seem to carry a feeling of a rocket launcher. The first game's rocket launchers looked deadly but were oftentimes more useless than a machine pistol. It's good to see some sort of balance being brought to the rocket launchers. The added fast-fire for revolvers is pretty cool. It looks like it really adds distinction to the revolver class and that is absolutely a welcomed addition to the game.
Enemy body parts being deconstructed is also pretty cool, I'm definitely curious to see if this translates back over into fighting zombies as well.
You can look for Borderlands 2 to launch in mid September for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. For more information feel free to visit the Official Website.
