Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare Developer Reveals The Game's Best Guns

Some gamers will debate to no end what the best weapons and loadout is in Call of Duty. With the latest game having made its way onto the market last fall, it brought with it a near incalculable amount of new weapons and weapon customization features, making the debate even more inflamed when it comes to discussing the best weapons Advanced Warfare has to offer. Well, the developers have put the arguments to rest by actually revealing what the best weapons are in the game.

Gamespot spotted a few tweets from studio head and co-founder of Sledgehammer Games, Michael Condrey, who revealed on Twitter what the top five guns are in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. First Condrey teased gamers, stating...

“What do you think is the best gun (K:D) in #AdvancedWarfare? The top 5 might surprise you.”

After the brief tease, Condrey decided to follow it up with the actual top five list of the best guns in the game, rolling them out for all the world to see. Check out the list below.

There are a lot of comments about the list, obviously. Some are complete agreement with what rangs as the top five while others debate the order in which they're listed. Surprisingly enough, most of the Twitter social metaverse seem to agree that the ARX-160 Hole Puncher deserves to be at the top.

For those of you wondering (or completely unfamiliar with the weapons in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare) the ARX-160 Hole Puncher is basically a modified version of the 14.5 inch automatic SCAR-H assault rifle. The weapon on Advanced Warfare offers a three-round burst fire option, plenty of mobility and decent range, making it a pretty good all-around weapon for both close-quarter combat and mid-range combat.

There are, of course, plenty of people a bit salty about their choice weapons not making the cut, but that's to be expected. Most notably, shotguns and sniper rifles aren't on the list, nor did any pistols make the cut. You could also count out any bolt-action rifles being on the list as well.

Given the setup and play-style of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare it's not shocking that only certain weapons made the cut and are oftentimes used way more than every other weapon on the list. You have to move fast and furious through the game, so it's not surprising that weapons that afford for fast mobility and quick fire-rates would be in the top five.

I guess now you can at least study and know exactly what you're going up against and what the average user will be running around with to take the top spots. To better train and thwart the “best guns in the game” it's totally possible to look for weak spots and find alternatives to get around the players relying on those weapons.

Even still, it's a pretty big shock that not one shotgun made the list... it looks like players need to find better ways to get more effective kills with shotguns in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.
