The hype train is really starting to pick up steam for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. The latest teaser trailer gives a hint at the new enemy that players will presumably face off against (or even possibly join, depending on how the story plays out), arriving just ahead of its official announcement.
The teaser trailer is only 33 seconds long and was posted up recently on the official Call of Duty YouTube channel. There's a bald guy talking about the pains and horrors his group will bring to their enemy as part of a propaganda piece.
I'm sure some gamers will be listening closely to the speech above from the mysterious bald soldier, so you can check out a transcription of his speech below to see if there's anything in there you can use to find out more about this upcoming shooter from Infinity Ward and Activision.
Make no mistake, we will rip you from the history books. Every last trace of you... gone! You will know loss. We will be the architects of your pain. We will build monuments to your destruction. The whole world will bear witness to this: our ascension. We will blot out your skies; we will bury you in darkness. Know this, and know us, we are your enemy. We are the Settlement Defense Front.
The Settlement Defense Front sounds like some sort of space colonization security force. It almost makes you wonder if there's any sort of ties back to the events of Call of Duty: Ghosts? The Ghost images appeared to be flashing on the screen, flickering in and out in the teaser trailer above. But what does it all mean?
Some gamers can't wait to piece it all together and figure it all out while others are fine patiently waiting for the official announcement. In between his comments there's a quick flash of the Nuk3town Map, indicating that the connection between the map and Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare are legit.
Some eager players managed to spot the hint in the Nuk3town Map for Black Ops III, and ever since they have been trying to piece together clues and bridge the gap between Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and the previous titles.
Just recently a Canadian retailer leaked a poster for the game that revealed that not only will there be a new Call of Duty this year, but a remastered version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is also on the way. The poster revealed that 10 of the game's multiplayer maps will be included right off the bat as part of the bundle package with Infinite Warfare. Some gamers worry that Activision will charge for the other standard multiplayer maps from Modern Warfare by releasing them as post-launch DLC. It wouldn't be surprising given that they've charged in the past for re-releases of old maps in newer Call of Duty games.
Activision is rumored to make an official announcement for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare on May 3.
