In the Japanese gaming circles there has been a lot of talk about an upcoming game made in collaboration with a few of the big guns in Japanese publishing, namely Sega, Capcom and Namco. The name of the game is called Project X Zone and it's due out for the Nintendo 3DS.
Andria Sang nabbed the first details via an early leak of Famitsu, regarding the upcoming strategy title...that's right, it's a strategy RPG title featuring some of the big names from popular franchises across the various properties from Capcom, Sega and Namco Bandai.
The game, Project X Zone or Project Cross Zone, will sport various big names from the venerable history of popular Japanese-centric titles, including -- on Capcom's side -- Chris and Jill from BioHazard/Resident Evil, Ryu and Ken from Street Fighter Zero, Mega Man X and Zero from Mega Man, as well as Dimitri and Dante from DarkStalkers and Devil May Cry.
On Sega's side they will have Ulala and Touma from Space Channel 5 and Shining Force EXA, Pai and Akira from Virtua Fighter, Shinguji Sakura and Ogami Ichiro from Sakura Wars, as well as Kurt and Riela from the critically acclaimed but commercially underperforming Valkyria Chronicles.
Additional characters will also make the cut, including characters from Dynamite Cop and Rival Schools. So it's safe to say that additional fan-favorite and iconic characters from other popular franchises will also make it into the game at some point as well.
A new trailer is expected to release for the game later this month.
