Are you tired of waiting for Rockstar Games to release cooperative heists for GTA Online? Then this site is for you.
AreTheHeistsThereYet.com answers its own question in huge block letters: "NOPE." The site then notes how long ago GTA 5 was released. Today marks the 277th day since the game's launch.
The site's creator said on Reddit he made the site to express his "boredom and frustration that the GTA: Online heists are still not out yet." I'd say that both emotions come through crystal clear on the site.
Online heists have been a promised feature since last year. They seem like the ultimate feature for GTA Online. What could be better than pulling off some elaborate bank job with a group of other players and then fleeing a small army of cops? It's far and away the most desired feature of the game. Players have even been making their own fake heists in anticipation.
Rockstar intended to release cooperative heists for GTA Online this Spring. However, they revealed in late June that they're taking longer to develop than expected.
"We are very sorry for the delay, and are working hard to bring them to you as soon as we can," Rockstar said at the time. "Please know that we are focused as always on making the best possible content for you to play and we are thankful to all of you for your patience, understanding and support. Stay tuned for more information on that as well as lots of other ongoing content updates, enhancements and additions to the world of GTA Online that are on the way."
Gamers hoped that heists would end up in the July update for GTA Online. However, the July DLC turned out to be the Independence Day Special, released on Tuesday. GTA Online tends to get one content update per month so heists probably won't be out until August at the earliest.
At this point, Rockstar may just end up waiting until GTA 5 hits Xbox One, PS4 and PC. They plan on releasing those versions this fall. If those platforms were the first to include heists, that could be a potentially big lift to their sales. I really hope that they don't shortchange Xbox 360 and PS3 gamers like that, though.
Will GTA Online's heists be released by the end of the summer?
