Code of Princess will hit the 3DS on Oct. 9 and, with only a week until the game finally arrives on U.S. shores, Atlus has announced that participating retailers will be selling the game with an artbook and soundtrack at no additional cost.

Code of Princess according to the latest story trailer, tells the story of a sword that protects a kingdom from being overrun by monsters and the princess who must wield it against the. At least I think that's what was going on. I glossed over most of the overly anime jibba-jabba and focused instead on the gameplay, which appears to offer some competent beat-em-up goodness.

According to the trailer, Code of Princess will offer an impressive army of 50-plus playable characters and more than 100 quests to plow through. There's also a co-op mode, as well as the ability to compete in a versus mode. In short, it looks like a pretty nice chunk of beat-the-crap-out-of-baddies action being squeezed into a portable package.

Now that we know more about Code of Princess and its early purchase goodies, we can instead focus on the questions that remain unanswered. Like, where did the rest of that princess' clothes go? Not wearing armor is one thing, but charging into battle in a lacy bathing suit? That's just poor decision making right there.
