What do you think 2027 is going to be like? It’s a heck of a lot closer than you might think and if humans don’t blow their own butts to oblivion before that year gets here then we could be in for some real technological treats. Eidos Montreal has a few ideas of what a few cities will look like in 2027 and in the new “Behind 2027” dev doc we get a glimpse at a few of the cities you’ll be visiting in Deus Ex: Human Revolution.

Now, I have got to say that assuming no political BS goes down at the Spike VGAs I’m entirely convinced that no game comes close to the story being told in Deus Ex: Human Revolution and the game should definitely take home a bunch of awards. This feeling is further reinforced with all the new information coming out for the game showcasing a truly detailed and thought-provoking look at our society in 2027. Sega’s Binary Domain seems to aim at taking on a similar story concept but I get the feeling that game is going to step all over its own feet with a clumsy story…but that’s just my take on it.

Anyway, Deus Ex: Human Revolution’s world is extremely engaging and places like Montreal and especially Detroit get huge makeovers. Yet, the glitz and glamour of a futuristic society doesn’t stay in place for long due to the riots and civil unrest settling in amongst those who oppose the growing trend of human robotics.

You can check out the uber-snazzy environments from Deus Ex: Human Revolution with the new dev doc below. Want to learn more about the game? Well feel free to visit the Official Website. Deus Ex is due out in late August for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
