The game designers at Day 1 Studios explain why co-op helps reinvigorate the F.E.A.R franchise and explain what sort of powers will be at the disposal of both players. I don’t mean to play the devil’s advocate here but back in 2006 this probably would have been quite awesome, however in today’s generation of gaming we have Gears of War 3 coming up and Left 4 Dead 2 and Halo: Reach which already sport four-player cooperative modes…so, F.E.A.R. 3 is looking a little bit dated by comparison.

Nevertheless, as the old saying goes, it’s better late than never. And a cooperative mode is still a well welcomed late addition to the aging series that could possibly breath some extra life into the franchise.

You can check out the new cooperative mode trailer below or head on over to the Official Website to learn more about the game. The new release for F.E.A.R. 3 is set for later this year in May.
