Activision let loose the first bit of gameplay footage from Nintendo's live press conference earlier today, giving gamers the first hint of what they can expect from Nintendo's first HD-ready home console system. If you're all geeked to find out what's new in the upcoming Black Ops 2 for Wii U, Activision holds nothing back regarding the new split-screen multiplayer modes and how the Wii U's GamePad helps to change the game.

The video comes courtesy of video capture from Nintendo Everything, who is probably reeling in mega-hits right about now from all the Nintendo related fanfare, and the video does an excellent job of showcasing what the game will be like playing via the GamePad as well as playing on the TV. In a neat twist, gamers who play two-player co-op or versus can do so without the split-screen option, making for a much more intense multiplayer experience. Check it out below.

The game looks about as good as it'll ever get for this current console generation. Although it is a little disappointing that Treyarch didn't push the envelop by just a bit considering that the Wii U has nearly four times the amount of RAM available than what's in the current Xbox 360 and PS3. Whether or not the specs will be sustainable when competing with Microsoft and Sony's new HD consoles rumored to release next year and the following year, well that remains to be seen. For now, it looks like the Wii U will be the goto console for high-end HD games given its native 1080p support and GPGPU.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 will be a launch title for the Nintendo Wii U starting November 18th in North America and November 20th in Europe.
