During their Spring Showcase, Microsoft revealed that a new Forza game will be arriving on the Xbox 360 this fall. Forza Horizon, a spin-off of the main series, is in development at Playground Games.

Horizon will be the first game in the series that isn't headed up by Turn 10 Studios. However, Turn 10 will be assisting Playground with the game.

"I wouldn't trust this partner as much as I do if I didn't expect them to surprise me and surprise our players," Turn 10 head Dan Greenawalt told OXM UK today. "I have respect for their ability to come up with great ideas. So I think yes, they are challenged by the customers the same way we are to surprise them with innovation. That's how they see themselves, that's how we see them, it's how they see us. It's really a shared goal."

Few details have been released for the game. Microsoft simply says that it's a "fast-paced, pick-up-and-play" game. They seem to be implying it's a bit more arcade racer than simulation. We'll have to wait for official details, though. Until then, we can occupy ourselves by watching the teaser trailer.
