Rockstar Games released a new promo teaser for Grand Theft Auto V, promoting the fictional in-game religion of Epsilonism, which seems to be a mix of Scientology and Mormonism. The whole thing is pretty ridiculous but all tongue-in-cheek nonetheless.

The whole angle will undoubtedly make some right-wing nut pissed at some point; I wouldn't doubt that if the video gets into the hands of some political blowhard they'll blow it out of proportion and Rockstar will laugh all the way to the bank this fall.

Given the way most secondary characters and organizations work in GTA games, I wouldn't be surprised if Epislonism played a prominent role in a couple of missions throughout Grand Theft Auto V.

The game itself will sport a lot of what made the series famous to begin with, including jets, planes, helicopters, skydiving, jet skis and more. Even more than that, there will be a greater focus on multiplayer this time around and this all comes packaged into the awesomeness of RAGE, the Rockstar Advanced Game Engine. This is the same technology that powered GTA IV and was later optimized and showcased in Max Payne 3.

You can look for GTA V to launch later this year for the Xbox 360 and PS3, and presumably later on for PC. For more information be sure to visit the Official Website.
