As mentioned on Friday, Ubisoft will be offering a Collector's Edition of Far Cry 2 with a t-shirt, art book, and other extras. However, if you pre-order FC2 from GameStop, you can ditch those extras in favor of something you might value more: bonus missions.
According to a press release issued by Ubisoft today (details via 1UP), the Limited Preorder Edition offered exclusively through GameStop won't cost anything extra but will include six bonus missions and a fold-out map (maybe a cheap plastic version of the cloth map that comes with the Collector's Edition). It's not clear whether you'll be able to buy the Collector's Edition through Gamestop, thereby getting all the Collector's Edition goodies and the bonus missions.
Presumably these missions, said to add three hourse of gameplay, will be downloadable content and a code to get them for free will be packaged with this Limited Edition. I'm always skeptical about the quality of bonus missions ("find the sixty zebras hidden throughout the game"?) but still, additional gameplay means more to me than art books and making-of DVD's so it's a pre-order option worth exploring.
