Based on the anime and arcade game of the same name, Gyrozetter is Square Enix's next attempt at bringing forward a brand new franchise, as part of the company's 10 new IP slogan. The transforming, car-mecha action will surely attract fans of both racing games and Transformers and should be a nice alternative RPG for Nintendo 3DS fans.

Gyrozetter lets players run around in a 3D world, battling other robots and evil doers, ala Super Robot Taisen, and includes the typical standard-fare upgrades and enhancements one might expect from a 3D arcade RPG title. You can check out the new trailer below, courtesy of course, from none other than Siliconera.

Square Enix putting some bucks into an original IP like Gyrozetter is a cool way to branch out from the typical fanfare of games that Square has been backing. Then again, they've also backed Sleeping Dogs and have been behind the Eidos brand, which has been pumping out some interesting games.

Gyrozetter will bring the vehicular racing, RPG-leveling, fast-paced mecha combat to the Nintendo 3DS a lot sooner than you think. In fact, you can look for Gyrozetter to launch in spring of 2013, exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS.
