Subscribe To Here's A List Of The Xbox Games With Gold For May Updates
May is just around the corner, which means it’s time to take a look at next month’s list of Games with Gold coming to the Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Get ready solve puzzles, zap alien invaders, dress up early for Halloween and drive really, really fast.

The Games with Gold list for May just dropped on the Major Nelson Blog, including a quartet of free games for folks who have an Xbox Live Gold account. Two offerings are Xbox One titles while the other two are for the Xbox 360. Thanks to the wonders of backwards compatibility, though, those 360 games can be played on the One, too. Here’s the rundown:

-Defense Grid 2 (Xbox One)
-Costume Quest 2 (Xbox One)
-GRID 2 (Xbox 360)
-Peggle (Xbox 360)

It sounds like Defense Grid 2 will be up for grabs from the start of the month, with Costume Quest 2 hitting your virtual collection on May 16. Over to the Xbox 360, GRID 2 will be available starting May 1 with Peggle joining the collection on May 16. Costume Quest 2 will apparently be available until June 15 while Peggle will only be up for grabs until May 31.

For those unfamiliar with this month’s lineup of Games with Gold, Defense Grid 2 is a tower defense game that tasks the player with destroying invading aliens before they cause too much damage to your outposts. You’ll start off small but, as you nuke baddies and earn resources, you’ll be able to buy better towers and take on even more insane odds.

Costume Quest 2, on the other hand, is a light and colorful RPG that sees a group of youngsters taking on a crazed dentist on the most important night of the year, Halloween. The neat hook is that you can collect costume pieces as you play in order to dress up your characters and, in battles, they transform into whatever costume they are wearing.

As for GRID 2, it’s a racing game. Take everything you know about racing games and GRID 2 probably has you covered. Loads of cars, loads of modes and mechanics that blend a bit of simulation driving with a bit of arcade freedom.

Finally, there’s Peggle, the beloved brick breaking game from Pop Cap. Aim your marble at a puzzle of bricks and fire away. The object is to figure out how to destroy all of the bricks with as few marbles as possible. It’s a simple formula that proves extremely addictive.

So, all of you Xbox Live Gold member, what do you think of May’s list of Games with Gold? Happy with your selection? Let us know in the comment section below.
