Resistance: Fall Of Man and Ratchet and Clank studio Insomniac Games has been a long-time PlayStation developer but now they're broadening their horizons. They're working with EA Partners on a new IP for both the Xbox 360 and PS3.

Insomniac also plans to implement longer development times for its future projects. They've typically released games on an annual pace but feel that doesn't work anymore. "One thing that has become apparent to us though is that in order to live up to our own high standards of quality, we want to give ourselves more development time to iterate and polish our games," said Insomniac CEO and Founder Ted Price in a letter to fans.

Price also reassured PlayStation loyalists that existing PS3/PSP exclusives wouldn't be coming to other platforms. "We know many of you are extremely loyal to the PlayStation family, and especially to Resistance and Ratchet & Clank. We are too. Our relationship with Sony Computer Entertainment is still very strong, and continues as we develop additional projects exclusively for PlayStation 3 - projects that will take full advantage of our additional development time."

In case that didn't put your fanboy paranoia to bed, here's a tweet from the official Insomniac Games Twitter: "Since Sony owns the intellectual property rights to Ratchet & Resistance, you won't see them on any console but Sony."
