It looks like the newly formed Seattle-based development studio, Undead Labs, has beat Valve to the zombie-MMO punch. Undead Labs announced today that a new action-MMO zombie-game is in the works and it’s due out for the Xbox 360 and PS3.

According to the creative mind behind Undead Labs, Jeff Strain…
“Every time I see a good zombie movie with friends, we spend days debating our strategies for surviving the zombie apocalypse,” … “The police station or the supermarket? Garden rake or staple gun? Bach or The White Stripes? I’m a game developer, so I’d probably be useless for anything other than ghoul bait, but I’m excited to have the opportunity to build an MMOZ that lets us put those strategies to the test and find out for sure.”

Strain departed from the NCSoft team to hammer out a creative studio that focuses on doing something a little different within the MMO genre and the gaming industry in general. No release date has been set on the project but we’ll be sure to keep you posted on any new updates. For more info on Undead Labs be sure to visit the Official Website.
