You may not really care that The Legend of Zelda turned 25 this year, but there's a selfish reason why you should. As part of the 25th anniversary celebration, The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Anniversary Edition is now free to download on the DSi and 3DS.

Four Swords was first released along with The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past on a single Game Boy Advance cartridge. The gameplay is similar to Link to the Past, but multiplayer. Up to four players battle through randomized dungeons together, slaying monsters and solving puzzles. Each player competes to get the most rupees, with the top earner getting a special prize.

The Anniversary Edition now available through DSiWare is a bit different. It adds two sets of new levels, Hero's Trial and Realm of Memories. Completing this areas will let players unlock the Hurricane Spin move and Master Sword, respectively. This new edition also introduces a single-player mode in which you control two Links.

Four Swords won't be free to download forever. After February 20th, the game will become a paid download.
