Today Apple launched the Mac App Store. More than a thousand free and paid apps are available for download.
The Mac App Stores offers programs in categories like Education, Games, Graphics & Design, Lifestyle, Productivity, Utilities. User ratings, staff picks, and sales charts will also help you find what you're looking like. You can purchase premium apps with your iTunes account and then immediately download them to your computer.
Though there are some brand new apps available through the service, it features a lot of old favorites as well. iPhoto, iMovie and GarageBand can be purchased for $14.99. Pages, Keynote, and Numbers from iWork are $19.99 apiece. They've also got more high-end software, like the $79.99 photo editing suite Aperture 3.
You can get the Mac App Store software by downloading Mac OS X v10.6.6 Software Update. Interested developers should head here.
