A single image of the PC version of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance has gone live thanks to a very excited Hideo Kojima from Kojima Productions tweeting the picture out for the internet world to see, witness and love. If I didn't know any better, I would also assume that Kojima seems to be on his way to joining the illustrious and glorious PC Gaming Master Race.

Kojima tweeted the picture recently to let the gaming world know how progress was coming along on the hack-and-slash action title, and it was met with fairly positive responses, not to mention more retweets than the a bunch of site's “Top 5 hottest cosplay picture” articles combined.

The photo isn't anything special and as you can see below, it's captured from off screen so there's some quality loss. Nevertheless, it does show that there are more shadows on screen and the shadow resolution is quite high, along with quite a bit of ambient occlusion.

For those of you thinking that it's out in left field that an image of the PC version of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is just now surfacing, don't be too shocked because it was in the cards for a long time coming.

Back in June we reported on Platinum Games and Kojima Productions announcing that Metal Gear Rising would be coming soon to PC, with nothing much more than that being offered to the gaming community. Well, today we now know that soon seems to be... soon.

Graphically the game looks legit on PC and if proper controller support is in tow and maybe, just maybe, some potential Linux love, then Metal Gear Rising won't just be a cool port to PC, it'll be one of the many games that gamers can't wait to get their hands when the Steam Machines and SteamOS go live at the beginning of 2014.

As for the game itself (for those who didn't play it), MGR: Revengeance is all about the hyper-badass Raiden taking on a group of deadly soldiers. The game is replete with Metal Gear-esque bosses and personalities, along with all of Platinum Games' trademark over-the-top action set pieces and ridiculously fast-paced melee combat.

DLC has already been made available for MGR: Revengeance and one might assume that Konami will bundle in the DLC as part of a complete package... or not. Regardless, it's good news that a hack-and-slash, Japanese third-person action title is coming to PC from a major publisher. This continues to spell good news for the PC platform and opens up a pathway to exciting times for the elite members of the PC Gaming Master Race.
