Capcom, in addition to letting loose some screenshots of the upcoming Monster Hunter 3: Ultimate for the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS, also followed it up with a new trailer detailing some of the game's most treasured features that have been revered throughout the history of the franchise's lifespan. The trailer is short and sweet but does just enough to get gamers in the mood for monster-bashing action.

Monster Hunter 3: Ultimate is a remake of the Wii's rendition of Monster Hunter 3. The game sees some HD improvements coming from Nintendo's SD console to Nintendo's first HD console. The graphics and textures have been upscaled, the framerate smoothed out and the monsters made bigger and badder than ever before. Check it out in the trailer below.

I've always loved the weighty feel to the weapons and combat in Monster Hunter games. The way the characters react to wielding massive weapons and moving as if these things are as heavy as they look really adds an element of immersion and appeal to the game that lacks in so many other titles out there.

So far, Capcom hasn't done anything to screw over the Monster Hunter fans like they did with Resident Evil and Mega Man fans, other than remove the exclusivity from Sony consoles and move the franchise over to Nintendo's platforms. But in regards to gameplay and expanse, Monster Hunter games have consistently expanded over the years.

You can look for Monster Hunter 3: Ultimate to launch on March 19th for the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.
