NetherRealm Studios' 2011 reboot of Mortal Kombat may finally be released on the PC. Amazon UK is currently listing a "Game of the Year" edition of the fighting game for Windows 7 and XP.
In 2010, creative director Ed Boon said that the PC version was being considered. He added that there was a big market for PC fighting games in Europe. Thus, even if this PC version pans out, it might be exclusive to Europe.
Although Boon said that a PC version was being looked at, publisher Warner Bros. never formally announced the game for that platform. Mortal Kombat debuted on the Xbox 360 and PS3 in April 2011, with a Vita version following in 2012.
The Amazon listing (via Evil Avatar) doesn't mention what the GOTY edition contains. It could be similar to the Komplete Edition for consoles. The Komplete Edition included the base game as well as all of the characters, modes and other DLC released to date.
The PC version will supposedly launch in June, according to Amazon. It's priced at £20.68, which is around $31 American.
