Marvelous Entertainment's Muramasa: The Demon Blade is scheduled to appear on the PlayStation Vita this year with a handheld port of the side-scrolling action hack-and-slash title that made waves on the original Wii and now it's making the jump over to Sony's latest mobile gaming platform.

Gaming Everything managed to spot the new screenshots for the upcoming port, and based on the images I really have to say that the game is looking just as cool as it did when it originally launched on the Nintendo Wii a few years back.

The game follows two ninja warriors with interesting backstories that carry them through a very dangerous but beautifully designed adventure that focuses on popular, historical Japanese mythologies and oil-painting aesthetics. The game even managed to inspire follow-ups such as Sumioni: Demon Arts and artistically similar titles like Dust: An Elysian Tale.

If you enjoyed games like Odin Sphere or any of the above mentioned titles, then you'll easily find yourself wanting a copy of Muramasa for your PSV.

The game is scheduled to release in Japan this upcoming spring on March 24th. It's kind of a shame this game wasn't ported to more consoles and platforms...oh well. You can check out the new screenshots for the game below.
