Ready At Dawn, best known for handheld games like God of War: Ghost of Sparta and God of War: Chains of Olympus, has announced their first original console game at E3. The Order: 1886 is coming exclusively to the PS4.
"The genesis of this project happened many years ago, but it was not until 2010, when hearing of the upcoming PS4, that we as a studio decided it was time for us to bring this IP to life," Ready at Dawn's Ru Weerasuriya said on the PlayStation.Blog. "We saw that the platform could finally give us the potential needed to achieve the vision we had for this game."
The Order is set in Victorian Era England. In the game's alternate timeline, humanity is facing a "powerful and ancient foe." Their edge in this war is new Industrial Revolution technology such as firearms and electricity rifles. Players take on the role of a knight belonging to the titular order who will play a key role in the conflict.
The first trailer shows a wagon full of knights being ambushed by mysterious enemies. The enemies almost seem like zombies but it's difficult to tell. I guess Ready at Dawn will unveil these foes at a later date. The trailer is composed entirely of in-engine footage.
"These visuals are what you can expect of the final game when you play it," said Weerasuriya.
