PlayStation Plus subscribers will start off 2015 with six free games. Sony confirmed all of the January freebies in an announcement this morning.
Here's what you're getting on each platform for January, according to PlayStation's Facebook page):
PS4Infamous: First Light - This open-world game puts players in the shoes of "Fetch" Walker, a young woman with neon superpowers. While First Light technically an expansion to inFamous: Second Son and connected to that game's story, you don't need Second Son in order to play this. First Light builds upon Second Son by introducing new race and arena challenges for players to tackle.
The Swapper - The Swapper strands players on a damaged space station and challenges them to escape. They have to travel through the station and solve puzzles in order to traverse its many hazards. Fortunately, they've got an ace up their sleeve: a device that lets them create up to four clones of themselves at a time.
PS3Prototype 2 - It's been two years since a virus spread through New York City and turned many residents into mutants. Marine sergeant James Heller returns home from Iraq to find that his family has been killed during the outbreak. While fighting against the mutants, he becomes infected himself and gains superpowers. He must use these powers, which include superhuman strength and the ability to assume other people's identities, in order to stop the virus once and for all. The open-world map of New York City also includes many optional activities that let him grow in power.
DuckTales Remastered - In DuckTales, players control Scrooge McDuck as he tracks down treasures in far-flung locations like the Himalayas and the Moon. He'll encounter plenty of enemies and obstacles but fortunately he can best both by using his cane as a pogo stick. Capcom has updated the original NES platformer for a new generation of consoles. They redid all of the game's visuals with 2D hand-drawn characters and 3D modeled levels. The surviving cast from the DuckTales animated series, meanwhile, reprised their roles for full voice acting.
PS VitaWhoa Dave! - Aliens are invading and the only one who can stop them is an unassuming pixel dude named Dave. He must toss alien's own eggs at them to kill them, or use skulls that function like time bombs. These weapons have their risks, though; the skulls can blow up in his face while the eggs can hatch to spawn more aliens. While playing this dangerous game of hot potato, gamers will compete to get as high of a score as possible.
Duke Nukem 3D: Megaton Edition - One of the most legendary first-person shooters of all-time is now available on PS Vita. The Megaton edition includes the base campaign along with its three expansion packs. It also supports online multiplayer for up to 8. The multiplayer supports cross-platform play with the PS3 version to make it easier for you to find competitors.
